Location Austria is responsible for marketing Austria as an international film location. Our goal is to promote Austria’s first class film industry workforce, to maximize equipment and studio rentals, and familiarize international media with the outstanding selection of urban and rural locations in Austria.
Location Austria was founded in 1997 as part of the Austrian Business Agency, the state agency for promoting industrial development in Austria. It is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economics and Labor and the Austrian film industry. Location Austria is a member of the EUFCN (European Film Commissions Network). Arie Bohrer, Location Austria, was elected first president of the EUFCN in November 2007 on a two-year term.
