Austria’s hospitality is as legendary as its coffee houses. In cities like Vienna, Graz and Salzburg but also in the more rural areas beautiful traditional accommodations and modern designer and art hotels are available for filming. Fees depend on size and requirements for the shoot. In Vienna, historic luxury hotels like the Hotel Sacher (which celebrated its 125 year anniversary in 2004), the Hotel Imperial and the Palais Schwarzenberg as well as the designer hotel Das Triest created by the internationally celebrated architect Sir Terrance Conran, are of special interest. The guest lists of these establishments include royalty, industrialists, fashion designers, rock and pop stars, theater and opera celebrites, and international film stars including Sean Penn, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Glenn Close, Anthony Hopkins, Dennis Hopper, Jean Paul Belmondo, Anthony Quinn, and Peter O’Toole.

The Hotel Blaue Gans in Salzburg has won acclaim for its exquisite interior. The Hotel Sacher in Salzburg is another hot spot for international celebrities: Tom Hanks resided there while he scouted locations for BAND OF BROTHERS. The Schlosshotel Fuschl in Hof near Salzburg draws visitors not only with its five-star restaurant but also served as a location in the famous 1950s Sissi-trilogy by director Ernst Marischka about the last Austrian Empress, Elizabeth. In the far Western region, the Vorarlberg, the modern Martinspark Hotel in Dornbirn and the Deuring Schloessle in Bregenz are excellent locations.

"It has been spectacular to film here. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. It makes a fantastic backdrop to what we are doing here. It couldn’t be better. "
