All sections of the Austrian film industry are covered by professional associations which serve to represent the economic, social, cultural, political and legal interests of their members and to bring those interests to the attention of the public. Their common goal is to ensure a continuous increase in the quality of Austrian-produced films as well as the ongoing expansion of the audiovisual sector.

Furthermore, they offer advice to their members concerning training and ongoing education possibilities. Some associations host their own seminars and workshops. Most of the professional associations have a website which includes, among other information, a list of members.
